Why a light bulb? Daniel Omari Smith was the light of his family’s life. As an electrician he illuminated other people’s worlds. What a perfect emblem for a bright and enthusiastic young man.
In May 2010, Daniel was mercilessly shot and killed in a case of mistaken identity. In his memory, the Daniel Omari Smith Trust has been created to make a difference. For many young adults life can be extremely challenging and the Trust aims to focus on and support students who might not otherwise accomplish their dreams by providing financial support for their education.
The Trust is currently collaborating with the College of North West London where Daniel obtained his qualifications in electrical installation, at the present time seven students have benefitted from the Trust’s funds. As the Trust grows, our aim is to improve on this number and reach out to many more young people in need of our support.
Since the Trust began, there have been a variety of successful fund raising events and we have been supported by many generous individuals. If you would like to take part in any future events or have any ideas for future fundraising, then please contact the Trust. If you would instead like to make a donation to the Daniel Omari Smith Trust then simply go the donate page where you will find all the information that you need.
Your support is very much appreciated.
